Scarborough randomness - July 2019

The first of two visits during the summer to Scarborough, yielded some nice images of my favourite gull, the Mediterranean Gull. Armed with Marks & Spencer fruit scones - they seem to prefer these - I managed some nice photos of a moulting adult and a 1st summer bird.

Being July, it was generally quiet along the coast at Scarborough, so photographic opportunities were few, so I was pleased to get some nice shots of common species between Scalby Mills and Marine Drive.

Being in Scarborough, Bempton Cliffs is too close not to be paid a visit. Alas, the day I chose to venture there was very overcast, and while I had superb views of everything, breaks in the cloud were at a premium. However, I was pleased to capture a Razorbill with its velvet black eye.
